Port Tasting

I'll do this phonetically:  Portugal, Oporto, Port.  Get it?  Port comes from Portugal!  We had a fantastic guide, George, who led us through Graham's portery, er,  winery.  I learned all about port, but have now forgotten most of it.  Is the sweetest port  the middle aged port?  I think so.

True story:  I bought a bottle of Port to bring home to my son and his wife.  On my way home, going through customs in Amsterdam, I was asked if I had any alcohol.  I replied that I had a bottle of Port.  I was only 1 of 2 people on the entire flight who had to have a baggage search, even of my checked luggage, as they looked for the Pork in
my luggage.  Someone finally realized that I had Port not Pork.

Lodging

This is the hotel where we stayed in Oporto.  A theme of this trip was the fantastic  lodging.  In Spain all of the "hotels"  were owned by the Spanish government, and were converted from ownership of the royal family.  I don't remember which King or Queen vacationed here in the 17th century.
